What to Wear in Grand Cayman (and dress code for events)
When packing for a trip to Grand Cayman in August, it’s important to pack for warm and humid weather. Here are some items that you should consider packing:
- Light and breathable clothing, such as cotton shirts and shorts
- Sunscreen with a high SPF and a wide-brimmed
- A waterproof rain jacket or poncho in case of rain showers
- Comfortable walking shoes or sandals for exploring the island
- Insect repellent to ward off mosquitoes and other insects
- And of course, a swimsuit. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, so be ready.
Once you’ve got the basics covered, you’ll be planning for our specific events. We recently released our agenda (link to agenda) so you can get a sense of the flow of the event. Overall the vibe is casual, so for breakfasts and our Friday morning Champions Chat, the most important thing is comfort. We’ll ask that no one show up in just their swimsuit, but otherwise, shorts, t-shirts, etc. are fine.
For dinners, you’ll want to clean up a little bit more, and since our business session will be immediately before Awards Night, you should plan to get ready beforehand. Below is some additional information about each night’s dinner and some example photos to help you plan.
Welcome Dinner
Keep it casual. Our welcome dinner comes after a day of traveling for most of our guests, and our goal is to have a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for everyone to meet and greet each other for the first time. Our event is outdoors, so while we’ll have some shade and the sun will be going down, plan to dress for the heat and humidity.
Dinner this year will be on the beach, so we recommend sandals or shoes that you don’t mind getting sandy (avoid heels), and we will be eating during sunset, so you may want some sunglasses as we get started.
In general, we’ll have a pirate theme for our dinner, so if you wanted to throw a little thematic flair into your outfit, you won’t hear any complaints from us.

Awards Night
Awards Night used to be our formal night for the event, but we won’t be asking anyone on stage and group photos aren’t required. That said, we will have trophies available if you and your team would like to take an “official” photo together, so you’ll want to plan for your outfit to potentially be memorialized on film.
Awards Night is an indoor dinner with a presentation celebrating our winners. Recommended attire is cocktail casual, which may include a button-down shirt or polo, casual cocktail dresses, etc.
This is our one dinner inside, so if you wanted to wear heels, this in the night. We’ll ask our winners to stand at their table and be recognized, but we won’t be dancing or standing a lot. Think of this as picture night. No ties, coats, or gowns required, but also no t-shirts or bathing suits.
Dos: sundresses, sandals, long pants, collared golf shirt, button down, cocktail dress
Don’ts: shorts, flip flops, jeans, t-shirts
Below are guests from previous years modeling some appropriate style options.

Saturday Night Blue Party
The last night of our event is when we let our hair down and really have some fun. This year, we’re wrapping up with a Supplemental Blue Party, so we’re asking all of our guests to wear their best blue outfit.
The dress code is workplace-appropriate free-for-all, so if you’ve got a vintage leisure suit, a fabulous cocktail dress, or a tiki-print Hawaiian shirt, it all works – just make sure it’s blue! We’ll be outdoors around sunset, and this night will include some dancing. We’d recommend flats rather than heels and something comfortable in a little heat and functional if you get out on the dance floor.
And it just so happens that a few of our guests from previous years were fashion forward enough to give us perfect examples here, too.
We hope that this guide helps you plan your attire for Champions Circle 2023. Also make sure you’ve got comfortable shoes for your sightseeing, a swimsuit for the beach or pool, and necessary hats/sunscreen/sunglasses for the sunshine you’ll be enjoying.
